Locking Gazes (preview) from Michael Robinson on Vimeo.
Tara Chickey and Caleb Smith of Moviate (a film and sound cooperative in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania) will present a program of animation, collage, and personal cinema that highlights the independent perspective and passion for cinema as an art form. Films and videos produced in Super-8, digital video, and pixelvision video (a toy video camera made by Fisher-Price) will include diary and observational content on environment and texture. The members of Moviate lean toward the charm of super-8 film whenever possible, realizing the warmth and tactile feeling that film provides. About the filmmakers:Tara Chickey and Caleb Smith, Filmmakers In-person
Tara Chickey teaches high school level art and is an accomplished painter whose work has been shown at multiple galleries as solo shows. Her work in film and video stems from being a painter first, which allows her inherent pull of line, shape and texture to be captured as a moving image. Using stop frame animation techniques, Tara's films consist of hundreds of individually painted frames, creating an organic sense of motion.
Tara is a member of Moviate and the owner of The Mantis Collective, a contemporary art gallery in Harrisburg, PA.
Caleb Smith teaches Film and Video at the Capital Area School for the Arts, an arts magnet high school in Harrisburg, PA. His passion for film and the moving image has driven him to create many short pieces in Super-8 and Pixelvision video. His films and videos have been shown at the Three Rivers Film Festival and featured on "The Art of Pixelvision", a two disc DVD set of pixelvision videos. He has produced commercial videos as well as music promo clips for Cinerama and The Wedding Present. Caleb is a founding member of Moviate, a non-profit film and sound organinzation in Harrisburg, that programs film festials and in-person filmmaker appearances.

Kathleen Yearwood Tónleikar 12. Júní
Tónleikar Kanadíska trúbadorsins Kathleen Yearwood verða á KAffi Hljómalind 12. júní næstkomandi frá 17 - 19.
Af wikipedia:
Kathleen Yearwood is a Canadian experimental singer-songwriter and author, born in 1958.
From Subterranean Records description of Kathleen Yearwood:
- This powerful and very radical Canadian artist and her music have been described variously as a "folk banshee," "Joan Baez meets Diamanda Galás," and "when angels and demons collide," among many other superlatives, but the descriptions tend to fall flat before the real thing.[1]
In an 1993 interview with the Calgary, Alberta newspaper VOX, Yearwood notes that "what I have for sale are songs about spirit in a culture that denies anything spiritual."[2] She believes that her life and her art have been shaped by familial abuse, poverty, sexism, battering, and the corruption and materialism of the Canadian society in which she grew up.[2] She has contributed for many years to the Prison justice movement in Canada.
